Monthly Music Recap (September 2022)
Welcome back to the monthly recap of my top singles and projects. I understand that not everyone has the time to go through weekly new music releases, so this recap is a way for me to provide a summary of new music that everyone should check out.
I’m listing my top singles and projects each month in no particular order (other than alphabetical), so check out at the end of each month or the beginning of the new month for a monthly recap. Each month might differ in terms of number of entries, as this will depend on the number of new releases, which can vary from month to month. The number this month is 25 (twenty five).
Due to the last Friday being on Sep 30, I thought I would have needed more time, hence I initially planned the release of the newsletter on Monday, Oct 3. However, since I managed to compile everything by the end of the day, I've decided to release it earlier for everyone's convenience.
Top Singles
Tons of good music were released this month, so it was a bit harder to narrow down my favorite singles to just 20 unlike last month. There's a good mix with some of my all-time favorite bands returning with new music (looking at you, Paramore). One single that has been on repeat is Lil Nas X's STAR WALKIN', which is aptly used for the League of Legends Worlds Anthem, a departure from previous years but still very much his style.
As always, if you prefer to have all the songs played in one place, you can check out the YouTube playlist below.

Top Projects (Albums, Mixtapes, EPs)
Similarly with the top singles, I also had a bit of a trouble narrowing down to just 20 projects this month, so 25 it is for this month. I made sure to include a relatively diverse genre based on my tastes as usual, ranging from R&B (Ari Lennox), to Afrobeats (CKay), to pop (Rina Sawayama), and alternative (Yeah Yeah Yeahs). Like last month, there are a couple of deluxe albums listed which the original albums were included in previous months, but I wanted to rehighlight them as they are projects that I really enjoy.

And there you have it, my top singles and projects for the month of September 2022. Again, my intention is to provide a summary so that people can check out music if they don’t have enough time to do so. This list also gives you a taste of my favorite genres, and I hope you enjoy every one of them like I do. Happy listening!
P.S. If you want to actually stalk what I’m listening to at any time, feel free to do so on my Last.fm profile here. You can also check out my Musicboard profile here, where I track my backlog (under Listen Later) and reviews for music releases. Don’t worry, the long reviews are here to stay and I do also crosspost the long reviews there too.
On a less music-related note, I have a Letterboxd account here in case you’re interested in seeing which films I’m watching along with my brief film reviews. I also have a Serializd account for TV shows here. If you're into reading, I have a LGBTQIA+ story published on Tapas, featuring an aroace agender character which you can check out here.
